The Laika 601 Deluxe is the main car that the character drives and maintains throughout the game. It is based on the real-world Trabant 601 (popularly known as the " Trabi " in the former Eastern Bloc) , which was built by VEB Sachsenring in the German Democratic Republic between 1963 and 1990.

When you first start out, the car is nothing more than an empty shell.

If you start with the tutorial (recommended) you use the stock parts in your garage provided to you by the game (and the man called Uncle) to rebuild the Laika and head out on the road. The Uncle has a replacement door from another Laika to fill in the missing door slot. The replacement door sometimes takes numerous attempts to open, and the window doesn't roll down.

'''Enginshut up lol this is funny'''
'''Engine Block '''– The main component of your car. Without it your car will not move. Poorly maintained engine blocks will reduce top speed.

'''Air Filter '''– A nonessential component of your car that will

reduce wear on the engine. Poorly maintained air filters will increase engine wear rate.

'''Fuel Tank '''– Holds

the fuel and oil mix of your car. Poorly maintained fuel tanks will leak gasoline.

'''Carburetor '''– Delivers

an air and fuel mixture to the engine's combustion chamber. Poorly maintained carburetors will decrease fuel efficiency.

'''Water Tank '''– A nonessential component that holds the water that is used to clean the windshield. Poorly maintained water tanks will leak water.

'''Ignition Coil '''– Uses power from the battery to start the engine. Poorly maintained ignition coils will struggle to start the engine.

'''Battery '''– Provides power to the ignition coil and various electrical components. Batteries without a charge will be unable to start the car.

'''Tires '''– Keep the wheels off the ground, and provide grip for the car. Tires with no durability will provide almost no grip.

As the player

progresses, the parts of the car suffer damage from impact or wear and

tear. Parts are repairable by way of repair kits. New car parts can be purchased at Laika shops in towns, as well as upgrades to the car such as [[Roof Rack|Roof Racks]], [[Mud Guards]], and Paint colors.

Rarely alongside roads, the player can encounter an abandoned Laika 601 on concrete blocks. These cars don't have wheels or doors, but the trunk and hood is still intact. Sometimes, the player can find a box in the driver seat and the trunk, as well as some other items. If the player opens the hood, they can find engine parts, typically in moderate to low durability levels. Players cannot attach parts to the Laika, even if the parts came from the car itself.
